The hearing of the case in Much Frederick James Tibbies, aged 24, a dealer olf Marsden, was charged with stealing a bullock valued at £7 2s 6d, belonging to Samuel Stewart, with the alternative charge that he received the bullock knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained, was concluded at the Supreme Court, Greymouth, on Saturday, before Mr Justice Adams. The jury retired at 11.25 a.m. and de-| liberated until 3.30 p.m. The foreman announced that the jury had been unable to agree, and the judge thereupon ordered a new trial, to tako plaee at the February sessions of the Supreme Court. On the application of i Mr Joyce, accused’s bail was renewed.
