For the last .few days it has averaged 50 beiow. Two large houses are crowded with men getting ready 'for the trail and making charts, overhauling tents, repairing sleeping bags and footgear. In the mess house there is iconstant hammering where trail stoves for heating, airplanes, dog harness and radio sets are being got ready for the summer work. There is no room for a quiet discussion from early morning until dinner time, and no escape from the din of manufacture and bantering which accompanies all efforts.
