The Board met at 4.30 p.m. P'resi ent: Messrs M. Houston (chairman),' Heenan, Mclntosh, Richards, and Dr Teichelmann. . An apology was made for the absence of Mr Stuart.

From Harbourmaster, reporting there was a north-west channel, 7 with ,11 to 14 feet; that the wharf berthage had shoaled 15 inches.—Received.
The Secretary reported Mr Sampson of the Public Works Department, Greymouth, visited the north wall on 26th August, under instructions from Wellington. He asked for soundings before and aftejva good flood—Received. It was resolved that on his pext visit special attention be asked as to the desirability of diverting the, river.
Dr Teichelmann moved and Mr Keenan seconded—That the Charitable Aid Board be asked to remove the hut now unoccupied through the death ,of the Chinese former occupant and they be reminded of the Board’s former desire that as these huts became unoe-. cupied.they he removed.—Carried. . ,Y It was resolved that the first skid available be let to the Midland Coy. Accounts amounting to £359 13s 5d were passed for payment. The meeting then concluded.
