FOOTBALL
SATURDAY’S GAME
WESTLAND V. GREYMOUTH
It will be like old times'on Saturday afternoon to see representatives of Westland and Greymouth playing a challenge match on Cass Square. The Dittinan Shield, won a few weeks ago from Inangahua Sub-Union, is the bone of contention. The Westland team is a strong one. The forwards are a. heavy lot and should combine well, while the backs will be' a"" speedy lot and if they get the ball should make the game an open one. One thing both forwards and backs should do is take a lesson in tackling from their captain. If the Westland tackling is solid and sure, then the winning*of the game should be within their grasp. The Greymouth team are confident of securing a victory, and there will be a large following from the northern town to give their players confidence and support. There will be a curtain raiser at 1.30 p.m., School v. Old Boys, which should provide an interesting game. A compulsory charge of one shilling will he made for admission to Cass Square from I p.m.
The following will represent the High School against Old Boys at 1.30 oVivlr to-morow:—Forwards: Dtedrich, Wallace, Connolly, ' Spargo, Preston, Knowles, A’Court, Smith; hacks: Atkinson, Morgan, Stapleton, Rowe, Walker, Anderson, Williams. E'merg : Schroder, H. Rowe, Adamson, Richards.
