WEST UJAST WINS POPE SHIELD. IJy Telegraph—Per Press Association..* WESTPORT, Sept. 12. The .'annual match for the Pope Shield toon place this afternoon between the ladies’ teams representing the Duller Hockey Assn, (holders) and West Coast (challengers) Hockey Assn, and was won by me West Coast by 3 goals to nil. The West Coast team combined much better than did Buller, and they were also more expert in their stick work, and .earned a well-merited victory. Miss Nellie McGrath scored two of the goals for the winners, while Mrs Edison sewed the third goal. After the match, Mr W. Hart, the President of the Buller* Hockey Association, presented tne Pope Shield to Miss O. Stapleton as captain of the Coast team. * A minature Shield, donated by Mr Rudge Wood, for ilie best player in the Buller team, was won by Miss Elsie Stevens.
