FOR KAIKOURA.
BLjENHEIM, Sept. 10.
Commenting this morning on Mr P. They pointed out that the matter- was one for the Kaikoura'' people themselves. At me present time it was possible for a pilot findjng.:.hypself in difficulties over .Kaikoura'tbi,Rinke a successful emergency landing with almost , any type of machine as there were plenty of suitable fields in the vicinity, but if the Kaikoura,"? people desired to make their twin a Stopping place as required for the proposed through air lines, it would, he,, necessary to make suitable''afrangehicnts and to acquire flying rights over..a, level field at least 600 yards in eaelrilirection, and free from approach obstructions such as trees, etc., for a considerable distance.
The Marlborough Aero Club officials declined' to oQTgment on the Canterbury Club’s action in Conducting a membership. chihpaign : in Kaikoura, which is wellAvitiV.n the boundaries of the province of Marlborougn, but they pointed out that K'aikoura is considerably nearer to' Blenheim hv air than it. is. to .Christchurch; especially a Christchurch represented by the Wiggram aerodrome, which is an appreciable distance from the city, and they considered that it would be found when the air lines were running, that Kaikourn people would he able to reach Wellington almost as readily as they would be able to reach Christchurch.
