UNDER SEALED ORDERS
A MYSTERIOUS MISSION. . SUVA, August.2B. The Government yacht Adi Beti sailed on Monday morning under “sealed orders » fully fuelled and provisioned, as for a 'fairly long - voyage. .Upon making inquiry-at the various Departments connected either with the vessel or with such missions, no explanation, could be found for the voyage. It 4s alleged, upon' reliable semi-official information, that the German cruiser, Emden, while visiting an outlying island, landed a quantity of liquor for the use of a German planter. As this was quite contrary to the local law, as well as in opposition to all international usage; the Government decided that the goods' should be the ground “for further action.’’' How drastic, this may be “will depend,”'as the little boy said, as large interests-may be affected. The whole affair is full c'f all sorts of queer possibilities, including a demand from Germany of an explanation, should the allegation be the truth.
