A BURGLARY. (By Telegraph—Press Association). GISBORNE, Sopt. 10. The'premises of It. W. Cook, florist, were broken into at night and pot, plants and seeds valued at £2O stolen. ELECTRIC POWER FAILS. GISBORNE, Sept. 10. The Government transmission line between Waikaremoana power house and Gisborne failed yesterday, apparently owing .to high winds causing the line to swing and jump the insulator, burning through the crossarm and dragging down the next set of poles. The trouble apparently affects two or three miles of transmission line and may take three days to repair. In the .meantime Poverty Bay is drawing electrical supply from the Gisborne stand-by plant. NATIONAL GALLERY. PLANS TO BE CALLED FOR. WELLINGTON, September 8. An important step towards the creation of', the National Art Gallery in Wellington, for which £95,000 has been subscribed, and for which the Government has promised £IOO,OOO, will be taken within a-few days.. ; This will be the advertisement of the terms of the contest, to be held to provide plans for the . building. An important qualification of the Academy is that the committee must satisfy' itself that sufficient accommodation is permanently available in the new buidling for the carrying out of the objects and purposes of the Academy. \
