Official advices confirm that five Soviet airplanes yesterday bombed a station on'the Eastern border of Manchuria, causing twenty-eight casualties. liusso-Chinese fighting has hitherto been confined to sporadic raids by irregulars, whereof both sides are magnifying the reports lor propaganda purposes; Tokyo officials disbelieve that actual warfare iF likely and are still hopeful of an ultimate settlement without outside intervention. RUSSIAN ATTACKS. (Received this dnv at 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Sept. 9. Mukden admits the Russians captured and occupied Pogranighnaya for two days, Chinese recapturing it on Sunday, which is disbelieved, in view of the suspension of railway, traffic on that section of the line. Russians are also • reported to he attacking Manchuli, but were repulsed. They are invading Manchuria between Amur and Vssuri rivers.
