MAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at, 9.25 a.xn.) 1 SYDNEY, Sept. TO. A life and death struggle was staged on the brink of the “'Gap’* last iiight. Two tramwaymen noticed a man walking towards the cliffs and followed him. The manp'who was over six feet in height and weighing about thirteen stone, discarded his cßat, leapt the fence and' made for the edge. : \ 1 The tramwaymen sprang after him and a desperate struggle ’ensued'/ ‘the three men sometimes being only;' & few feet from the brink. ' ■ , Howe/ver, later the man broke down and sobbed. He admitted he had intended to . commit suicide, saying, “My wife is to blame.” He is about forty-eight, well dressed and his cultured , voice bespoke good education. He wns handed over to the police.
