TEAMS FOR TO-DAY

LONDON, September 5. Official.—The Schneider Cup teams are:—

Britain Waghorn, Super - Marine Rolls itoyce 5.6. Diucy Gieig, Super.Uaiiiie Napier 5.5. Aieherley, SupeiMarine 5.6.. The reserves are two Glostei-Napier sixes, Stain forth pilot. Italy—Dal .Violin, Macehi 52. Cad-x-ingher, Macehi 6i. Monti, Mac-chi 67. Reserves —Two Maecliis 52, pilots Agullo and Canuvori.

Saturday’s race will cover 218 - miles which includes seven circuits of the Solent course. . The competitors will start at twenty-minutes intervals. The pilots must approach the starting p. int at a height not greater than a thousand feet and cross it at a height not greater than five hundred.

The British plane leads off, followed by an Italian, then British, and so on. The starting signal will be a gun fired from u warship. After the firing each competitor is allowed fifteen minutes ■in which to cross the line. MACHINES AND PILOTS. (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 7. . The machine which Lieut. Cadringher flies, has not yet flown. Lieut. Montie’s machine has only flown for fifteen minutes, Warrant-Officer Dal Moan flies the machine in which made the world’s speed record. Flying Officers Waghorn and Atcherley are both 28 years old. The latter flies the Super-marine Rolls Royee. Flight Lieut. Grieg, aged 28, is holder of the world’s unofficial speed record. His machine flew second in the 1927 contest.

The race starts at 2 p.m. In the event of Britain winning the ballot, Waghorn will be first off, followed by, Dal Mol in, Grieg, Cadringlier, Atclierley and Monti at 10-minute intervals. Experts predict that the winner will either be Dal 'Molin or Grieg.
