POWER BOARD
PROPOSED LOAN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 5. South' Taranaki Power Board’s proposal to raise a loan of £187,500 to purchase the plant and undertaking of Hawera of the County Electric Company, was authorised by a poll of the ratepayers to-day by 1062 votes to 206. The Board proposes to pay £136,500, the figure fixed by the arbitrators, for the Company’s business, and to spend the balance of the loan for reticulation and other purposes.
