Mr Stimson Ims announced that Mr Eliiiu Loot's formula for American adherence to the World Court had been formally adopted as an administration project.. Mr Stimson stated the Root •formula met the objections of the Senate and' fully proteeted the Unite States against dangers anticipated b.v the Senate in adopting five reservat oils to American adherence. The Amen.an acceptance of the formula was conditional upon ratification-by other Court members and about a year was expect ed to elapse before ratifications could be submitted to the Senate*. MISSING AIRSHIP. VANCOUVER, September 5. The Albuquerque report of the finding of wreckage and passengers and crew dead of the trans-Continental air liner is erroneous. Official announced to-day that the machine was still missing. They had been informed that Indians uad found wreckage in an isolated spot in a desert, but an investigation was fruitless. , - • ) ■ CRUISER. LAUNCHED. NEW YORK, Sept. 5. At Q.uincv,, Massachussetlts, Mrs Calvin Coolidge christened the ten thousand tons cruiser Northampton which was launched there to-day. LECTURE ON MAORIS. NEW YORK, Sept, 5. At Newhaven, Connecticut, lecturing at the Ninth International Congress of Psychology, at Yale University, Professor I. L. G. Sutherland, of -Victoria University College, New Zealand, read a paper upon the intelligence of the Mar.-ri. He reported a study of the native Maori’s intelligence in comparison with that of whites in no way supported the belief in race traits, as the main influence upon, culture. He stated he could find nothing to support the theory that there, were intrinsic differences between the primitive and civilised mind., He had found that the' Maori argued as logically as a white thinker, once lie was familiar with the premises. SEARCH FOlt. PLANE. WASHINGTON, Sept. 5. The Army and Navy have issued rush orders for all available planes to join the others already searching for the trans-Continental plane.
