OTAGO V. HAWKE’S BAY. NAPIER, September-4. In a hard and fast game, the Otag~> touring Rugby team to-day at Napier beat Hawke’s Bay by one point, 14 to 13. The visitors, though lucky to win, deserved their victory, as they made fewer mistakes than the home side. The Hawke’s Bay forwards overshadowed the opposition pack, but the local backs handled with far less confidence than . Otago. For the winners, Oliver (2) and Nicholson scored tries, the latter converting one, and Loder kicked a goal from a mark. For Hawke’s Bay, McKay, Campbell and Strachan scored tries, Grenside an-i Setford converting one each. WELLINGTON V. CANTERBURY. WELLINGTON, September 4.
