KINGSFORD SMITH. ULM RETURNING TO AUSTRALIA. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) ■ SYDNEY, Sept. 4. Mr Stewart, of the Australian National Airways received a cable to the effect that Flight Lieut. Ulm is returning to Australia immediately. Kingsford Smith will either return in the Southern Cross or fly to America. Three Avro planes purchased by the airmen leave London ior Australia on September 13th.. STEAMER AFIRE. SYDNEY, Sept, 4. A cable message has been received in Sydney to the effect that the steamer Rhvmnlv reached Durham with fires in three holds, which are now under control, but the vessel had a narrow escape from destruct-'on. It is sugsieted by the* cable that water is being pumped into the holds and the coal is being discharged alternately.
