EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “THE FARMER’S DAUGHTER” .TO-NIGHT. If you are of the opinion that there is nothing new in the comedy line on the screen then journey to the Princess Theatre to-night, where the . flood gates of laughter will be wide open, during the screening of'“The Farmer's Daughter” featuring Marjorie Beebe. You yyill see the comedy find of years in this red-haired, green eyed youngster still in her teens, who is rated by experts as the first national screen comedienne to be revealed. Her smiling eyes plus Irish pluck, nor Irish luck, win fame. Better than all else .is the absolute fact that Marjorie Beebe apes no other comedienne. She is as original in methods as she is distinctive and creates a sensation with her hilarious interpretation of the dairy maid in this rural comedy romance. “The Farmer’s Daughter” is her initial starring vehicle and was especially written for her by Harry Brand, Henry Johnson and Fredrica Sagor—a trio of seasoned creators of comedies, such as “Why Sailors Go Wrong.” Harry Brand who lias had a thorough training. covering ten years in every, branch of production from head of publicity for United Artists to general manager for- - Joseph Schenck productions and Henry (Hank) Johnson, long a comedy constructor wrote the original story. Fredrica Sagor, one of the most brilliant of ■ the younger, writers made the scenario. Arthur Rosson directed the picture and the supporting caste is of the all-star variety, including Arthur Stofie, Warren Burke, Lincoln Steadman, Sam Do Grasse and Harry Dunkrnson. The entire production was filmed away from the Fox Studios, chiefly in the beaut:fill adjacent to Santa Cruz. The whole story opens in the little vil • age of Cloverdale where the birth < f a heifer is a real event. The city slicker arrives prepared to do the villagers and do them good. He gets along fairly well until he matches wits with the Farmer’s Daughter, who reverses his theory that a sucker should never be given an even break. This is the mere thread of the story, but it is embellished with many highlights, including a real country fair, a bathing beauty contest and many novelties. There’s something new in the way of fun and excitement in every foot 'of this real, reel rural comedy.
