WOOD PULP PAPER

ENTERPRISE AT AIATAURA. The planting of pinus insignis trees on the property recently acquired by the New Zealand Paper Mills Ltd., at Mataura,,, was commenced last week. From now on operations in tree planting will, be vigorously pjuslied on, and 100,000 pines will be planted this ■eason. The company will guide its planting of trees each year according to the estimated requirements for the future. It hopes to secure the co-operation of the farmers in tho vicinity of Mataura in the matter of tree planting, bub this is a matter for future consideration.

In conversation with a newspaper importer, the general manager said circumstances would eventually decide now scon the pulp mill would be erected at Alataura. A certain amount of timber was now available at different points.
