He vvas five and three. In the first round, .uorpeth reached the turn in 37, four tip. At the end of the marnihg he was two up, and was six up. at the turning in the afternoon.
Whitton begfc Morrison seven and live; Russell beat Quirk four and two; Apperley beat Dnlrymple three and two; Nettlefokl beat Sawyers two and one; Ryan beat Adams five and three; sVinesr beat Schlapp three and two; Hattersley beat McGuinness two one. Among the professionals Mclntosh met Spence the former winning five holes going out, and also the sixteenth and seventeenth coming in. He was two up at the eighteenth. Spence was level at the 36th. Mclntosh, putting his second through the green, and talcing five, was beaten one down at the 37th. Bisett beat Cofry two and me ; Howard beat Robertson seven and six; Stewart beat Le Fevre four and three; McMahon beat Heard live and four; j ame Eyre two up. , .
