POLICE RAID RESULT.

As a result of a raid by police on a hut on the river bed, known as ike Marble Bar, Douglas Wilkinson was fined £25 on a charge of being the occupier of unlicensed premises where liquor was sold. The police stated T hat they found 166 empty, bottles, ten whisky bottles, 79 full bottles of beer and stout, two bottles of whisky, ten glasses, two bottle .openers and a corkscrew.

Littered with implements popularly associated with safe-breaking and burgjary, and with the smashed portions' of a safe, the Supreme Court to-dny presented an unusual appearance, when the mystery regarding the theft of the safe' was solved. Jas. Mullally and Leonard Michael "White were found guilty of breaking and entering the bacon factory of T. "Walker and Son, Hiiwera, stealing the safe, valued at £3O, and £7 in cash. They were remanded for sentence'till to-morrou. Samuel Patrick White anbl Leonard Michael White were found guilty, of receiving goodsstolen from premises in Eltliam, and were remanded for sentence.
