POLICE RAID RESULT.

ASHBURTON, August f. 3

As a result of a raid by police on a hut on the river bed, known as ike Marble Bar, Douglas Wilkinson was fined £25 on a charge of being the occupier of unlicensed premises where liquor was sold. The police stated T hat they found 166 empty, bottles, ten whisky bottles, 79 full bottles of beer and stout, two bottles of whisky, ten glasses, two bottle .openers and a corkscrew.

Jas. Mullally and Leonard Michael "White were found guilty of breaking and entering the bacon factory of T. "Walker and Son, Hiiwera, stealing the safe, valued at £3O, and £7 in cash. They were remanded for sentence'till to-morrou. Samuel Patrick White anbl Leonard Michael White were found guilty, of receiving goodsstolen from premises in Eltliam, and were remanded for sentence.
