Thirteen participants in the air derby reached Fox worth (Texas) for wernight. Three have dropped out due to accidents. One was taken ill to-day here. . •
The elapsecf time lead went to Mrs lliaden. Miss Earhart was second by four minutes. O’Donne was third and Miss Nicholls was fourth.
U.S. PLANE FAILS TO RISE
AIRMAN NEARLY POISONED.
WASHINGTON, August 22.
Six attempts to get - America’s Schneider Cup ’plane off the water today failed. The experiments ended by Lieut. Alt Williams being half poisoned by gas fumes. He was rescued by comrades.
