V '•.. •/ The loans completed during the month amounted to £518.421.,: making a total of £1,606.839 completed since the Ist April last. 1 ‘ Further new loans were granted to the amount of £369,045, making the total loans granted, but not yet paid, £564,327, while offers of loans less than the full amounts '■ applied for amount to £121,007, a total of £685,334. Renewals of 42 loans amounting to £192,790 were also authorised.

Applications for additional ik\iv loans amounting to- ; £266,594 are now under consideration. : , Estates, of a value of £771,271 were reported and accepted, for administration during the month. On 3lst March last the total value of tne estates under administration was £4B;334,790 and the new business! Jfor the four months ended 31st July, 19-9., was £3,149,870. which is £769,507 in excess of the figure of the same period for the previous year.

Grants of administration made by the Court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 111 for the month. During the month 641 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were deposited for safe custody with the Public Tntstqe by living testators, and the total number now held in the Public Trust Office is 04,682, representing an estimated value of over £258,000,000.
