WEDDING BELLS

STOPHER—TURNER. A very pretty wedding took place nt tne'Sacred Heart Church, Mangawhare, on Tuesday, August 6th, when Miss Margaret Emily Turner, youngest daughter of Mrs Turner, of Bainesse, Palmerston North, and the late Mr James Turner, of Stafford, "Westland, was joined in holy matrimony by KeV. Father AVcsteinde to Francis, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. Stopher, of Aoroa. 1

The bride who entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr T. H. Aiken, looked charming in a beautiful dress of ivory crepe de chine with overdress of radium lace, silver shoes and stockings. A lovely embroidered tulle veil was arranged cap fashion with a spray of orange blossoms round the head and fell m graceful folds over the ifrock. A magnificent bouquet of spring flowers was carried., Miss Gertie Stopher, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid and wore a, very pretty dress of pale pink French hand-embroidered georgette, grey shoes and stockings and black lace, hat with pink flowers and carried a lovely bouquet. Little Eunice and Noeline Aiken (nieces of the bride) were flower girls and wore sweet little dresses of pink and mauve crepe de chine, and gold armlets, the gift of the bridegroom. A band of tulle to match was fastened round their heads and each carried a posy of flowers to .tone. Mr A. Edwards acted ns best man. After the ceremony n reception was held at the Bristol Tea Rooms where many toasts were duly honoured. The happy couple received many beautiful presents, including several cheques. A number of friends were on the wharf to bid Mr and Mrs Stopher bon voyage. The honeymoon is being spent in Palmerston North and Wellington.
