AN APPOINTMENT. LONDON, Aug. 19

The Air Ministry announces that the King has approved of the appointment of Air Chief Marshall, Sir John Salmond, to succeed the Marshall of the Royal Air Force, Sir Hugh Trenchard, as Chief of the Air Staff, with effect from Ist. January, 1930.
