Among the passengers on the Tainui was General Sir Andrew Russell, who lias ‘arrived • back from London where he filled the position of Chairman of the Fourth Conference of the British Empire Service League.

Interviewed, he said, every part of the Jjjmpire was represented, and many valuable exchanges of vieiys of several subjects were made. It was agreed that as far as possible steps should .be taken to inculcate, in the people the advisability of buying goods made within the Empire.
