Mr T. H. Thomas, British Minister for Unemployment, arrived at Ottawa on Saturday to discuss various muttons with/’the Canadian Government, and particularly immigration. Ho dedeclared: “We liavo no desire to dump our people anywheie.” He expressed confidence that General Dawes and the Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay VlacUonakl, would reach an agieelnent, on armaments.
Asked for his observations on Lord Bonverbrook’s campaign for free trade within the En-pire, he s"id: “I d™’ l think it was a campaign.” “Merely a stunt,” suggested the newspaper man. “You have-supplied my deficiencies of speech,” the Minister replied. The Minister said that lie would liseuss eviu-v aspect of trade as it affected Britain and Canada.
