The buying public immediately appreciated that Chrysler leadership had again excelled, by offering for the first time a full-size quality car at a small cheap Car price. But to increase production and maintain standardised quality requires timePlant capacity is being constantly extended, and has now, according to latest advices, at aim d 1050 cars per day, hut still does noi overtake the ever growing demand; running at that date with some 17,000 orders in hand and over 5000 orders , actually behind. The Chrysler built Plymouth is the only loiw priced cai offering all the quality features ot roominess, internal-expanding hydraulic four-wheel brakes, full forced feed lubrication, etc., etc. PLYMOUTH CAR PLANT MODEL OP EFFICIENCY The Plymouth auto manufacturing plant, only recently placed in’operation, is one'of the most modern and completely equipped in the world. It occupies twenty-three acres of floor space and is the largest single floor structure of its kind in the worldi The plant itself is 2,490 feet, (almost half a mile long) and with the forty acre plot oh which it s.ands represents an investment of over £2,000,0001 » Due to his single floor plan, it has been made possible, through the usg .of twelve miies of conveyor machinery to produce 1,000 cars a day, when operations are on a single shift bas s and 2,000 cars on a two-shift basis. Two thousand nine hundred and forty individual machine tools, ali operating under their own motor power, perform the myriad of function* nee ssary to make rhe various parts of the engines, control and running gear. One hundred torn of stand id steel were used tp construct, the ovens in which fenders are enamelled There are 200 runningin stands to handle the engines that are constantly being tested prior to in'tallation in their chassis.
