EVERYBODYS PICTUREB. MACK SENNETT’S “THE .GOODBYE KISS ’’—FRIDAY. Mack Sennett has turned from the slap-stick, for the time being at least, to offer a feature-length ' picture that ranks right along with the inost brilliant dramatic and romantic works 01 the motion picture screen. “The Good-: iiye Kiss ” which will be shown at the; Princess Theatre on Friday is a won-, derful tribute to the career of the map who developed so many able actors, directors, and technicians in the motioq picture profession. It combines melodrama, comedy, pathos, and suspense iff a way that leaves nothing to be de-. sired in the tform of screen entertain ment. It presents a former vaudeville star in a comedy role that is unusual. It gives us two new juveniles who are exceptionally’ clever afid appealing. As a spectacle, “The Good-Bye Kiss ”> is marvellous. As a comedy it is q riot. As a love story it has not beep surpassed. Mr Sennett has combined his experience of years as a producer and director, and put into one the fruits of his experience. He carries us from laughter to tears in tli£ passing of a moment. He creates suspense that keeps us gripping the sides of our seats. And above all, he ha§ provided entertainment in practically every foot of this picture, and splendid entertainment at that. Johnny Burke, lias the featured comedy role in picture. Johnny is as funny off screen as one person can be, and he is just as ifunny on the silver sheet. Hf dpes a marvellous comedy role in “ Tlip Good-Bye Kiss,” and is sure to bp heard from as a motion picture comic. Sally Eilers, a Senhett “find,” is girl. This little girl is pretty, a clever actress, and an appealing personality. She was convincing in the most difl}cuit dramatic scenes, which is a test for even the most experienced actress. Little Sally is a credit to her eminent discoverer.
The usual.supports will also be showp including topical, scenic and comedy.
