LONDON, August 10. . “The Times’s” Berlin correspondent states that, while dispersing a Communist procession, two policemen were trampled down. They then fired on their assailants, killing one. REPLY TO CHINA. (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) SHANGHAI, August 12. The National Government announces the receipt of a reply from the United States to the recent note presented to the Powers, requesting the immediate abolition of consular jurisdiction. It is understood that the reply refuses to consider an immediate abolition, though offering to discuss tlie question.
