The city was beflagged and the Governor, Sir Wm.. Campion, in the presence of a large crowd unveiled a ' • commemorative tablet on the wall of V~ the Town Hall. ’'V ’ • The Governor-General read. a letter from Lord Passenild, stating the King oad conferred the 'dignity of a Lord Mayoralty on the City.
