NEW TANNING MATERIAL. GERMAN CLAIMS. FRANKFURT, June 26. Another important invention by the German Dye Trust was much discussed on the Frankfurt Bourse. The German company is said to have discovered and developed a synthetic tanning material, which is expected to revolutionise the world markets. It is said that the new invention will do away with the need for importing expensive vegetable products 'from which tanning materials are mostly derived and which are chiefly responsible for the continuous rise in the price of leather during recent years. As soon as the new synthetic product can be turned out in large quantities, it is stated, Germany will become the biggest exporting country for tanning materials, and a reduction in the pirce of leather may result.
