At to-day’s meeting of the Waikato Presbytery a resolution, was passed jis follows: “That the Waikato Proshy teiy deplore the proposals to increase the facilities for gambling contained in the proposed amendments of the Gaining Act, whereby racing dividends could be published and the telegraph services be thrown open for the, transmission of bets. The Presbytery strongly urges tine Members of Parliament to. reject these proposals as tending to increase, the growing evil of gambling.
