SCHEME FOR EMPIRE. NEW ZEALAND TO JOIN IN. [By Telegraph, IV Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 9. Hon H. Atmore, Miinister : in-Oharge of the Scientific and Industrial., Rcseatnch Department, announced to-day that ' the Government has decided to participate in the scheme df the Imperial Agricultural Research Bureaux, the establishment of which was one of the recommendations made by tho Imperial Agricultural Research Conference in 1927, which recommended the establishment of three bureaux, and of five correspondence centres, as follows:—Bureaux—Sqip science, animal nutrition, animal'health; Ccirrespomlence Centres—Animal genetics, agricultural parasitology, plant genetics, fruit; production, economic botnny. • ' ,E’ U rt ; • ' ••

Liaison Officer of the Department of Scientific and Industrial was estimated that the annual- cost of £20,000, and the contribution; of the United Kingdom,- -the .
