WELLINGTON, August 9 It now takes £1 12s Id on the average, to purchase what could have been purchased for £1 in the prewar months of 1914, states the Government Statistician, in the latest monthly abstract of statistics. Tt was also stated that there had been a substantial fall in the level of wholesale prices, and a slight decrease in retail prices.
