ROAD MAKING. Concrete grouting is ibeing experimented with by the Waitemata County Council on ’a section of the Blr-kenliead-Albany road, and tests made by r Professor S'. E. Lanub at the Auckland University College show (says the Auckland Star) that the new method is capable of producing a highway of great shock-resisting qualities. It is calculated that the system will enable concrete paving to bo carried out at a cost of £SOOO a mile—a little more than the cost of high-class bitumen peretration. Already the first half-width of seven feet of the experimental section of 20 chains of the Birkenhead-Albany road has lieen laid, the mfethod being to run a cement and sand mixture into the crevices left after metal laying until'the metal is thoroughly penetrated, a.ml the cement is floating on the surface. A roller is then applied to the surface and the road can be opened for traffic in seven days, or a quarter of the time required for curing concrete paving put down under ordinary circumstances. Tbe results from the grouting system are said to lie equal to thpse of the best premix concrete.

A slight cold causes much discom fort. But “Nazol” gives prompt relief. All who’ve tried it praise it. ft) doses for 1b 6d. —Advt.
