DETECTIVES’ RAID

ON COMMUNIST OFFICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 9. Oh Wednesday night, a raid ivas. made on the offices of the local group of the Communist Party o>f New Zealand by detectives who possessed a warrant to search for books or documents of a seditious character. The whole of the library of the local group containing many books of reference in general circulation, was taken away, as well as the records and reports of tlie group. This is the second raid within three weeks. On the first occasion the officers of the Red Worker in Vivian Street were visited and quantities of literature, newspaper files, correspondence, and other matter were removed.
