The Duchess of Bedford and Captain Barnard who are attempting to fly to India and back in ciglit days, are now flying from Aleppo, ( Syria, to Sofia, Bulgaria. They expect to reach Croydon to-morrow afternoon about five o’clock. If tlie Duchess achieves her ambition she will have created a new record for the return flight to India, as well as a new record for the homeward journe3 r . The Duchess left Lympne, Kent, last Friday.! Slid iarrivod at Karachi, India, on Monday. NEW SPEED BOAT. MISS ENGLAND H. (Received this dav at noon.) RUGBY, August 8. The new speed boat, which would be named Miss England IT, may shortly be placed under construction with a view to Sir Henry Segrave making a new record at Miami, Florida, next March. It would have a minimum horsepower of 3,500, and a possible horse-power of 5,100 It is estimated a speed Iboat of the design contemplated could cross the Channel and back to Dover in 25 minutes.
