V EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND. (From Our Own Correspondent). I £ s. d.
Total £3B 18 0 News was received in Ross yesterday of the death at Rangiora of Janet Miller, relict of the late Andrew Miller. The deceased came to Ross in August, 1866, where she resided for twenty-one years and was a (highly respected and well known resident. In 1887 she removed to Canterbury where she was engaged in business for some years. She had seven children, the only two surviving being Mrs Pearce, of . Western Australia, and Mrs William Mason, senr. of Ross. She leaves grand children, great grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren, most of whom reside on the Coast. The deceased had reached to within 48 hours of 100 years of age. The funeral takes place at Rangiora to-day.
