RAVAGES OE DISEASE. (Australian Press Association). (SYDNEY., August 6. Arrivals by the Oalulu to-day told of life at Vanikoro Island, Solomons Group. . They .stated that five years ago the estimated population of the Island was 6000, now it was less than 100; measles and influenza having killed large numbers, while fever was also responsible. There are a!bout twenty dire white settlers. (
