A good number of Presbyterian folk met in St. Andrew’s Hall, last, night when a farewell social was tendered to Mr and Mrs W. Urquhart and Miss ' Urquhart. The Rev. J. W. The recipients suitably replied ' and “ For They Are Jolly Good Fellows’’was heartily sung'. During the evening there was community singing. Mrs Parkhill contributed a solo. The ladies supplied supper, and the proceedings closed With ‘ ‘ Auld Lang Syne.”- , ' Mr Urquhart, who for 8£ years, has been manager of the local branch of the , National Bank of New Zealand, lias received notice of transfer to Oamaru and will be leaving Hokitika in a day or two.
