RACECOURSE FIRE
TOTE HOUSE BUItNT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.! DARGAVILLE, Aug. 5. A fire early on Sunday morning totally destroyed the totalisator house of the Dargaville Racing Club at Awa.v.no Point, together with a quantity of plant belonging to the Club and a quantity of household furniture owned by A. J. Finch, temporarily there. The origade turned out, but as the building is two miles from the town and out of the water supply area, nothing could be done, and the fire made a clean sweep. Insurance on the building and plant is £450. The insurance'on the stored furniture is not' known'.*; [I j j i} l The Racing Club will be heavy losers as the building was a fairly substantial one. The origin is a mystery as no one has been in the building for some weeks. I.
