A FIRE
TWO SHOPS BURNT.

CAMBRIDGE, Aug. 5. In the early hours of yesterday morning a. fire badly gutted two shops and portion of a third, in Victoria St. The three shops were under one roof of a wooden building, one of the oldest in Cambridge. The fire had a good hold when discovered. It started in, a shop occupied by W. Nan (fruiterer aiid confectioner) t swept through the roof and back portions of W. M. Larkins (baker)’ and C. M. Crawford (outfitter). The two first named shops owned by L. H. Nixon, Cambridge, were badly gutted, and the third only partly burnt. It. was owned by Mrs Roberts, of Auckland.
