According to the Toss Agency, over half a million people attended the demonstration and passe,d a resolution drawing attention to the danger of a new war in the Far East, and pledging support to the Soviet’s efforts in the cause of peace, and protesting against the British attitude in the —ngm-Soviet negotiations. Similar demonstrations were held at Leningrad, Kliarkoo and elsewhere. SIBERIAN OUTBREAKS. BETWEEN REDS AND WHITES. (Received this dnv at 11 a.m., SHANGHAI, Aug. 2. Red and White Russian outbreaks on the Siberian border are causing Chinese military authorities in Manchuria to strengthen the defences, ostensibly to avoid Chinese soil becoming the battleground for Russian differences. It is reported that Soviet troops have further advanced their positions, following the receipt of reinforcements.
