Excelsior Junior team to play Araliura.: Evans, Preston, Ferguson, Cowie, Rowe, Sumner, Gillooly) Hayward, Obrien, Butland, Dale, Schroder, Thompson, Hughes. Cars to leave Newman’s at 2 p.m. sharp. The following will represent Arahura v. Excelsior to-morrow (Saturday) at Araliura Hamilton, Lewis, Olsen, Muir (3), Wakelin, T. Tainui, Kelly (2), Smyth, Martin, E. Routhan, Jelly, Dick. Reserves: H. Mason, H. George, W. Routhan, and J. Ackers. In the reports published by the Greymouth papers of this week’s meeting of the AVest Coast Rugby Union, it was made to appear that there had been a postponement of the Newman Shield match between the Greymouth and Hokitika Primary State Schools, and it was implied that discourtesy had been shown by the headmasters in failing to notify the AA r est Coast Union of this postponement. The following are the facts of the ease: (1) NO fixture had been definitely arranged, though the match had been discussed tentatively. (2) As there was no fixture there was no postponement. (3) In any case the match would ; have been -played in Hokitika, not in Greymouth; and the AVest land Sub-Union would have been asked to.appoint a referee. In other words, the AA r est Coast Rugby Union, having instructed a referee to proceed to Victoria Park, Greymouth, to referee a match that would in any case have been played on Cass Square, Hokitika, now demands from the headmaster of the Hokitika School an explanation of his failure to advise the AA r est Coast Union of the postponement of a fixture that had never been arranged 1
