The King has approved that the dignity of Barony l>e conferred upon Lieut. •' General Sir Robert Baden Powell, founder of the Boy Scout Movement, which is at present holding a great International Jamboree at Birkenhead. Baden Powell gained fame in the South African War as the defender of Mafeking. It was in 1908 that he founded the Boy Scouts with the object of promotsjf; ing good citizenship in the rising generation.
