CVERYBODYS pictures. “THE DEVIL HORSE” TO-NIGHT. “The Devil Horse,””'the third feature production starring Rex, princely wild horse of the screen, comes to the Princess Theatre to-night. “ The Devil Horse” is a drama of the big adventure of empire building, taken from the romantic history of the early West and written for the screen by Hal Roach, producer of the picture, which is released by Pathe. As in “ The King of Wild Horses ” and “ Black Cyclone,” the two previous productions, Rex is supported by a east of equine and human players suited to the type of story and the backgrounds of the story are said to be scenic masterpieces. Lady, the equine heroine of “Black Cyclone,” and the Killer, heavy of the previous picture, are in “The Devil Horse.” In selecting players for the human cast Fred Jackson, director, sought those who, by their riding ability and familiarity with Western atmosphere, were qualified beyond the mere ability to act. The principals are Gladys McConnell, who hy her work in this picture won a five-year contract with another Targe studio, Yakima Canutt, world’s champion cowboy and stunt rider, Robert Kortmnn, Roy Clements, Master Fred Jackson, son of the director, and the entire population of the Crow Indian reservation in Montana. In presenting Rex against a story background of Indians and pioneers, with the historic struggles of the plains motivating the plot, Hal Roach offers an interesting inducement to attend the Princess Theatre’s show to-night. The usual supports will also be shotvn including topical and comedy and further episodes rtf “The Vanishing Rider.”
