“BABY FACE” DOODY.
NHW YORK, June 24. “Kill him on sight” is the instruction given to the police concerning diminutive “Baby L'ace” Do-'dy, who is regarded as the deadliest gunman since hilling became a local industry in Chicago. . Doody, who is five feet four inches in height and weighs only nine stone, is credited with having killed three mei and seriously wounded several others within the past few days. His last exploit was a daylight hold up in which lie escaped with £l,lOO. The police, however, do not warn him. as a prisoner in the courts but a an “exhibit” for a coroner’s inquiry because one of the three men he kil e» was a high police official named Jame. Levy. Levy had recovered a stolen motorcar when suddenly two youths appeared. The officer cried, “Stick them up!” but the youths opened fire first an-. Levy fell dead. One of the pair wa caught and he admitted that his com pan ion was Doody. Doody will be a dangerous man ti capture for he boasts that he carriei with him a bottle of nitro-glycerine-“to blow up everyone when J am pinch ed.”
