BOXING ASSOCIATION
WEDNESDAY, JULY 31st
A meeting of the Hokitika Amateur Boxing Association was held in Kellers Booms at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs F. McGregor (chair), J. Turner, F. Ballinger, R. Furness, J. Butland, E. IV. Heenan, and the secretary. An apology was made for the, absence df Air H. M. Coulson.
The Secretary reported having interviewed Mr J. Alussen, of Christchurch, and having received an offer from him to bring over his* first trio of girl tumblers and gymnasts and a light weight boxer, to give a display. The Club to pay travelling expenses and board.
It was moved and carried tha-t Mr Mussen be thanked for his offer and suggest Apgust 22nd.
It was also resolved to, match Atkinson (flyweight) and another, AI. Houston and A. King (heavy) and a suitable lightweight for Air Alussen’s pupil, on the same evening, 'following the ladies’ display. It was moved that prices for admission be: Ringside 4s sd, stalls 3s 3d, 2s, ladies 2s. A motion that the expenses of Club representatives, Alessrs Rowe and Atkinson, in the Coast Championships, bo paid by the Club was carried.
