New Zealand mahogany is being used for the interior panelling and nttings of the Auck.and Railway station, and the Napier Post Office, and is rapidly becoming recognised as a free working uimber tor high-grade joinery and abinet work, it is particularly well suited for the manufacture of period furniture.
Kohckoho (Dysoxylum speetabilo), or New Zealand manogany, belongs to tlio .mine family as satinwood, mahogany and Australian cculir. Red samples are scarcely distinguishable from. Mexican mahogany. It is one of the most beautiful ahd valuable hardwoods of New Zenind. It is easily woiv-cd, and takes a high polish.
