(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, July 31. The House of Representatives- met at 2.30 p.m. Auckland Electric Power Board Amendment . Bill (Mr J. B. Donald) and Preferential Voting Bill (Mr J. McCombs) were read a first time. Ren(t Restriction Continuance Bill No. 2 was put through the remaining stages and passed, j ii “ ; . T ' ;.A. motion expi'essing appreciation of the services of the late Mr J. F. Arnold, a formal* member for Dunedin was passed and the House adjourned as a mark of respect, rising at 3.50 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. to-morrow. THE COUNCIL. The Imprest Supply Bill was passed after a lengthy debate. The Rent Restriction Continuance Bill was introduced and read a first time and the Council adjourned at 9.45 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
