GREYAIOUTH, July 29
At the Magistrates Court to-day on a charge of being in possession of an unregistered shot gun J. C. Hende, of Kahikatea was fined 5s and costs.
George Blair was charged with allowing a bull to wander on the main road near Stillwater, on July 15. A second charge was preferred of allowing the same bull to wander oil July 10. The S.M. agreed that a bull wandering on the road was more dangerous than “an ordinary common or garden cow.” On one charge, lie fined defendant £1 with 10s Court costs, 11s lOd rangers’ expenses, and £1 Is solicitor’s fee. On the other charge defendant was fined £l, with ICte Court costs, and £1 4s solicitor’s fee.
The Commissioner of Taxes represented 'by Air F. A. Kitchingham, pro ceeded against Griffin and Smith, Ltd., charging them with failure to make the required return of the land owned by the company. The S.AT. said that lie would take into consideration the fact of .Q* v,, Hi’s illness and would inflict the minimum fine of £2 with 10s Court costs and £3 3s solicitor’s fee.
